PURE METAL - 100% HEAVY: that’s the definition which has been chosen by ATREIDES to describe their music. Epic and pure heavy metal, following the steps of the great US epic/heavy bands of 80's. ATREIDES formed with the aim of forging an absolutely heavy-classic oriented sound. Their musical influences: Warlord, Manilla Road, Savatage, Omen and so on. Their lyrical inspirations: mythology, SF and above all the Dune saga: the cult-cycle of novels written by Frank Herbert.
2k5: ATREIDES born in Mondovì (CN, Italy). Original line up included Davide De Meo (vocals), Antonio Allena (guit), Pietro Durando (bass), Marco Turco (drums) and the former guitarist Giorgio Tino.
2k6: ATREIDES release their first demo-cd, "2k6", including 4 tracks. The band plays its first shows in Piemonte.
2k7: Giorgio Tino leaves the band, the guitarist Matteo Mondino enters in the line-up. Some other new shows.
2k8: ATREIDES record and release thir 2nd demo-cd, "VENDETTA" (including 3 tracks), wich has been reviewed by many magazines and webzines with good appreciations.
After "VENDETTA", ATREIDES record two songs translated in the international language Esperanto (no heavy metal band made a such thing before), which have been released in a split-cd called "Internacia Metalo”.
2k9: some other shows in northern Italy, ATREIDES play as open-act for Rosae Crucis and Holy Martyr
2k10: ATREIDES win the "Italian Metal Awards" contest and play at Italian Gods of Metal festival in Milano.
