The actor stars as Stacee Jaxx, an aging musician whose glory days are long past. Among the tunes Cruise will perform are SCORPIONS' "Rock You Like A Hurricane", BON JOVI's "Wanted Dead Or Alive" and STYX's "Renegade".

"[Tom's] character has elements of Axl Rose, Keith Richards and Bret Michaels," director Adam Shankman tells USA Today. "We did a huge amount of research on what people were going through in this period." He also relied on personal experience.
